Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young is getting a step closer to finally releasing his first set of discs from the Archives series. Young is one of Canada's rock icons famous for a wide variety of styles but perhaps most famous for folksy tunes like "Harvest Moon" and "Heart of Gold" and rock tunes like "Rockin' In the Free World" and "Cinnamon Girl". Parts of his career was spent in successful groups such as Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young or CSNY.

More recently the artist has been known for his political beliefs. In 2006 he released the album Living With War full of protest songs including a tune titled "Let's Impeach the President". Later that year CSNY toured all over the United States playing the album in its entirety on the "Freedom of Speech Tour '06".

The Archives series is something that Young has been working on since the eighties and consists of box sets of previously unreleased material as well as live recordings from throughout his career. According to Billboard the first volume is set to hit stores in the fall however the date has been pushed back several times in the past leaving fans skeptical as to when they will actually be released.

The volume one is a 10 disc set that will be available on CD & DVD as well as on Blu-ray and will consist of material from 1963-1972.
