Folk-rock singer-songwriter Sam Beam, otherwise known as Iron & Wine is heading out on the road this fall. Beam released his debut album The Creek Drank the Cradle in 2002, which he wrote, performed, recorded, and produced himself. Since then he has released a few more albums; 2004's Our Endless Numbered Days and The Shepherd's Dog as well as a handful of EP's. The latter LP had a song that was critically acclaimed ranking as one of Rolling Stone Magazine's top 100 songs of 2007 and the album was included in Pitchfork Media's top 50 albums of the year.

This summer, Beam heads out on the road in Europe playing mostly festivals including the Way Out Festival in Sweden, The Strade Blu Festival in Italy and the Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium. He'll be playing some summer fests on this side of the pond as well including Lollapalooza and the Austin City Limits Music Festival.

Following Austin City Limits, Iron & Wine will be filling in the opening spot for The Swell Season; a duo made up of Oscar winners Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglovŕ. Then Beam will be out on a headlining tour that includes the following Canadian stops:

October 7, Vancouver, BC – Commodore Ballroom
October 8, Calgary, AB – MacEwan Ballroom
October 9, Edmonton, AB – Myer Horowitz Theatre
