Plain White T’s Take on the Big Bad World

Published: 2008-07-15
Chicago rockers the Plain White T's are readying their next album to be released this fall. Coming together in the late-nineties the band self-released their debut album Come On Over in 2000. In 2006, the band released the mellow acoustic tune "Hey There Delilah" to little fanfare. The following year the single was re-released on the Hey There Delilah EP and managed to go to number one in the U.S., Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, and Singapore just to name a few places. The track was also added to later versions of their fourth album Every Second Counts as a bonus track due to its popularity.

The band's upcoming record Big Bad World is their first following the monster success of "Hey There Delilah". Due out on September 23, according to Billboard, the album will feature tunes like the tentatively titled acoustic track "1, 2, 3, 4" and the heavily orchestrated "Serious Mistake". Dance rock song "Natural Disaster" is set to be the album's first single and will be available starting August 8.

Plain White T's are currently on tour in North America and will continue their road trek in Europe staring mid-August. The band will tour behind the new record in late 2008 or early 2009.
