Elvis Costello TV Show In-Production

Published: 2008-07-08
Singer-songwriter Elvis Costello can now add show host to his resume with the launch of his new television program. Best known for fusing styles and experimental music Costello has been an influence to young musicians around the world. His most recent record Momofuku was released this spring and features appearances from indie rockers Rilo Kiley and Jenny Lewis. Costello and his band the Imposters are currently opening for UK rockers the Police – but they will take time out on the tour to make one Canadian stop at the Whistler Music and Arts Festival in Whistler, BC.

Spectacle: Elvis Costello with… is Costello's new variety show and it features a slew of music stars of the same high caliber as its host. Co-produced by Canada's own network CTV, the US Sundance Channel, and Channel 4 in the US, four of the 13 episodes of the shows first season have already been filmed.

Guests that have already appeared on the show include pop singer Elton John, crooner Tony Bennett, rocker Lou Reed and former American President Bill Clinton. The lineup of future guests is just as impressive featuring musicians like Davey Faragher, Pete Thomas and composer Pat Metheny to name a few. No word yet on when the show will begin to air.
