Robin Thicke Releases New Album

R&B singer-songwriter and producer Robin Thicke is offering up Something Else on his new record. Beginning his career under the moniker Thicke, the singer-songwriter began making music in 2000 with his EP Cherry Blue Skies. But it was his work writing for other artists that first caught the attention of the industry. Penning hit songs for the likes of Christina Aguilera, Jordan Knight, Marc Anthony, Brandy and Michael Jackson he also took home a Grammy for his work on Usher's Confessions.

In 2006, Thicke, going by his full name, released his sophomore album The Evolution of Robin Thicke that was a commercial success selling over a million copies in the United States. The record featured a slew of collaborations with a whose who of hip hop heavyweights like Lil' Wayne, Faith Evans and Pharrell. He also mounted tours opening for India.Arie, John Legend and Beyoncé.

His next album Something Else will hit stores on September 9. According to Billboard it will feature no guest appearances and combine Mowtown and disco with "the creativity of the Beatles and Bob Dylan." The first single "Magic" is already playing on radio around the world. Other tracks featured on the record include "Side Step" and "Dream World".
