Tom Jones To Grace Toronto

Published: 2004-04-29
The legendary Welsh singer Tom Jones will be in the house - the Kool Haus that is - in June. Jones has had more than his share of hits over the years. Most recently he has been taking a page from Tony Bennett's book and teaming up with younger pop stars for duets. On his 1999 release "Reload", Jones has collaborations with The Cardigans, Barenaked Ladies, and Robbie Williams.

Early in his career Jones faced a similar problem to rocker Elvis Presley - US television executives would not show Jones below the waist because he shook his hips and such activity was not allowed on US television.

Jones will be at the Kool Haus June 18 & 19. Tickets, which go on sale May 1 via Ticketmaster, are higher than the typical Kool Haus show at $89.50. Jones will donate one dollar from the sale of each ticket to Mount Sinai Hospital.
