This year's Ottawa Folk Festival will feature a variety of acts – and will feature folk as well as a variety of other genres of music. Running from August 15-17 the Ottawa Folk Festival is an annual late summer tradition in the capital city, typically taking place a couple of weekends before Labour Day. Past acts to grace the Folk Fest stage have included the likes of Arlo Guthrie, Steve Earle, Ron Sexsmith and Bruce Cockburn. Taking place at Ottawa's Britannia Park, the festival will feature a main stage as well as seven daytime stages, a family area, food court and vendors offering a variety of homemade goods.

Highlights of the festival include: a musical tribute to Bill Hawkins on Thursday night. indie-rock darlings Broken Social Scene and maritimer Catherine MacLellan on Friday night, alt-country band The Sadies and singer-songwriter Sarah Harmer on Saturday night and finally American folk queen Odetta and Canadian singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright on Sunday night.
