Duffy Tours Behind ‘Rockferry’, Stops in Canada

Published: 2008-06-25
Welsh songstress Duffy is making her way to North America on tour this summer. The 24 year-old singer-songwriter has been dubbed a neo soul singer with her distinctive soulful vocals and pop influence and has been compared to fellow blue-eyed soul singer Dusty Springfield.

Aimee Duffy's hit single "Mercy" was released before her debut album Rockferry, which was released in March. The album went to number one in the UK, New Zealand and Switzerland and topped out at number two on American Billboard charts and at number three in Canada.

Here in North America Duffy has been dubbed as just one of a new wave of female British singer-songwriters making it big on this side of the pond including the likes of Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse to name a few.

This summer Duffy will spend the majority of July in Europe playing festivals like Glastonbury, the Wakestock festival in Wales and the Festival des Vieilles Charrues in France. At the end of July she'll be coming to North America to play more festivals like Lollapalooza, the Virgin Mobile Festival in Baltimore as well as Montreal's Osheaga Festival. She will also play a few theatres throughout the continent. Here are her Canadian tour dates:

August 2, Toronto, ON - Phoenix Concert Centre
August 4, Montreal, QC – Osheaga Festival
