Michelle Branch Readies New Solo Album

Published: 2008-06-18
Singer-songwriter Michelle Branch is finishing up her new album, which she hopes will be released this summer. Branch hit the scene in 2001 with the release of her sophomore album The Spirit Room that spawned hits like "Everywhere" and "All You Wanted". In 2004, Branch teamed up with musician and friend Jessica Harp to form The Wreckers, a country duo, whose debut single "Leave the Pieces" was a number one hit on American country radio. Last year the ladies announced that the band would be put on hiatus while they pursued solo albums with no current plans for a reunion.

According to her official website, Branch has just completed recording her upcoming release Everything Comes and Goes. Like the Wreckers, the album will have a country sound including a duet with country singer Dwight Yoakam on the tune "Long Goodbye" with other tracks including "Texas in the Mirror", "This Way", and "Crazy Ride".
