Snow Patrol Working on New Music

Published: 2008-06-06
Alternative rock band Snow Patrol announced on the group's official website that they are in the studio right now working on the follow up to their highly successful record, Eyes Open, which came out in 2006.

The Scottish quintet have been demoing songs since about mid-to-late 2007 so are now ready to get things up and running in the studio. They are recording in Ireland after having spending some time out in the countryside writing the material. They have been at work since the 19th of May but no album title or release date has been set. A previous blog entry by frontman Gary Lightbody implied that Snow Patrol were hoping for a late fall or early winter 2008 release though.

Eyes Open, which came out on May 1, 2006, has sold over two million copies worldwide thanks to the hit single, "Chasing Cars". It was produced by Jacknife Lee, who is rumoured to be working on Snow Patrol's latest album, and came out on A&M Records. Meanwhile, Lightbody also has a solo project entitled Listen…Tanks! , but only one song has been heard without anything else confirmed to be released anytime soon.
