Muse Working on Fifth Album

Published: 2008-05-30
U.K. rock band Muse have finally begun writing songs for what will be their fifth full-length studio record, after taking a brief break during their hectic world tour lately. The trio have not yet entered the studio, as they are still doing some dates for the world tour in support of their last album, 2006's Black Holes and Revelations. However, they have a few songs written and will continue to write until the tour ends officially after their appearance in England at the Virgin Festival mid-August.

Since everything is still in its early stages, no details about what kind of direction the music will take nor when an expected title or release date can be given. Muse, who are from the county of Devon in England, have been together since 1994, though their debut, Showbiz, came out only four years later on Mushroom Records. Black Holes and Revelations came out on Warner Brothers and received a nomination for the Mercury Prize in 2006. It featured the singles, "Supermassive Black Hole" and "Knights of Cydonia."
