Peter, Bjorn and John Release Two New Albums Next Year

Published: 2008-05-26
Swedish trio Peter, Bjorn and John have been keeping themselves very busy ever since the success of their 2006 hit "Young Folks". Peter, Bjorn and John's catchy whistling tune, "Young Folks", from Writer's Block came out in Europe in 2006 and in North America in 2007 and features ex-The Concretes member, Victoria Bergsman.Within the next year or so, they plan on releasing two albums they have been hard at work on.

First is an instrumental record with 10 songs and some spoken word elements, planned for release sometime this fall. It was recorded in Stockholm, the indie rock formation's hometown, and New York; singer Peter Moren told NME that it is "very melodic and laid-back." The tentative title is Seaside Rock.

Since this album is in its finishing stages, the group, who have been together since 1999, have already begun studio sessions to record the album that will follow up Writer's Block, which came out two years ago. This album will feature vocals as opposed to Seaside Rock, and Moren hopes that it will be out in time for March 2009. A few songs have already been recorded.
