Carla Bruni Album Gives Royalties to Charity

Italian model-turned-singer, First Lady of France and wife to current French president Nicolas Sarkozy, Carla Bruni, will be coming out with her third full-length album this summer. The French-language album, Comme si de rien n'était, was written by Bruni except for two covers and two songs co-written with Michel Houellebecq and Julien Clerc. It features 14 songs in total and all royalties she will make from the purchase of the record by customers will go directly to charity.

The album will be released in Europe in July and in the rest of the world later this summer. Recorded by Dominique Blanc-Francard, Comme si de rien n'était is a folk-oriented album that still needs to have the finishing touches in the mixing process completed. Bruni's previous record was the English-language album, Promises, which came out in 2007. Her 2003 debut, Quelqu'un m'a dit, was however all sung in French. Thus far, Bruni's musical success is much more prevalent in Europe than in the rest of the world.
