Beth Orton Touring North America This Summer

Published: 2008-05-21
English singer-songwriter Beth Orton is playing a few dates this summer in North America in support of her last record, Comfort of Strangers. The record is the 37-year-old's fourth full-length and came out in 2006. The folk songs were recorded in just two weeks in Sear Sound Studio in New York City and produced by Jim O'Rourke. It was released by Astralwerks/EMI.

She will not be playing with her regular studio and touring band, who are made up of Emmett Kelly, Leroy Bach and Matt Johnson; rather she will be playing acoustically with fellow musician Rob Moose. Though it's been two years since its release, Orton is also said to be working on a follow up to be released sometime this winter. Two of the 8 dates scheduled on the tour are in Canadian cities. The tour begins on the 2nd of July in Boston, Massachusetts and ends on the 12th of July in Brooklyn, New York.

The Canadian Beth Orton dates are:

July 8th, Toronto, ON The Music Hall
July 9th, Montreal, QC Le National
