Brooke Fraser Releases ‘Albertine’ Comes to Canada

Published: 2008-05-16
New Zealand born singer-songwriter Brooke Fraser is releasing her sophomore album entitled Albertine on May 27. The singer is best known this side of the pond contributing her serene vocals to Australian rock collective Hillsong UNITED, but her solo work is quite the contrast delivering a smooth, mellow sound with sophistication thanks to the production stylings of Marshall Altman (Marc Broussard, Matt Nathanson). Fraser has also been inspired in the lyrics by her trips to Africa walking through the aftermath of the Rwandan genocide and finding hope in an orphan girl Albertine, of which she dedicates the new album.

Fraser will be coming to Canada with Hillsong UNITED this August 29 & 30 for the Hillsong UNITED Conference in Toronto, but before that will be heading across the US and Canada on her solo album tour behind Albertine; here are her Canadian stops:

June 6, Vancouver, BC – BC Media Club
July 2, Toronto, ON – El Mocambo
July 4, Montreal, QC - Metropolis
