MuchMusic People’s Choice Nominations Revealed

Though the official nominations for the MuchMusic Video Awards have yet to be released, the categories and names of those in the People's Choice sections have been announced and can be voted on by the public.

There are 3 People's Choice categories in this year's MuchMusic Video Awards, which are to take place live at the music television network's studios on the 15th of June at 9pm in Toronto. They are for Favourite Canadian Artist, Favourite Canadian Group and Favourite International Video. Each category features five choices selected by MuchMusic and other music industry professionals, whereby fans can choose the winners by going on the MuchMusic website to cast their votes or by texting the number 299299 with the letters "MMVA". Next week, the remaining nominees for the categories that are not voted on by the public will be made known and as the award ceremony approaches, so will the names of the artists and acts making appearances and performances on the show.

The nominees for Favourite Canadian Artist are:

Avril Lavigne – "When You're Gone"
Belly featuring Mario Winans – "Ridin'"
City and Colour – "Waiting"
Feist – "1234"
Nelly Furtado – "Do it"

The nominees for Favourite Canadian Group are:

Billy Talent – "Surrender"
Finger Eleven – "Falling on"
Hedley – "For the Nights I Can't Remember"
IllScarlett – "Nothing Special"
Simple Plan – "When I'm Gone"

The nominees for Favourite International Video are:

Fall Out Boy – "The Take Over, The Break's Over"
Flo Rida featuring T-Pain – "Low"
Kanye West – "Stronger"
Rihanna – "Don't Stop the Music"
Timbaland presents OneRepublic – "Apologize"
