Bee Gees Musical in the Works

Published: 2008-05-13
The Australian trio Bee Gees are set to have a musical written for them that will hopefully be ready for public consumption in the next year and a half. NME reports that member Robin Gibb recently made the announcement with plans that the musical production will hit the West End and Broadway stages in London, England sometime in 2009. No other details are known.

A plaque was presented to the soft rock group, who were active between 1958 and 2003, the year that brother Maurice passed away, in honour of the Bee Gees' musical achievements.

The 3 singing brothers were one of the most successful acts in the last century, winning multiple Grammy Awards. In the late 1970's the group brought disco to the forefront by participating in the soundtrack for the motion picture Saturday Night Fever, for which they wrote and contributed the songs, "Stayin' Alive", "How Deep is Your Love" and "Night Fever". The last album of new music by the Bee Gees was their 20th studio record in 2001 and was called This is Where I Came in.
