Nelson Mandela’s 90th Birthday Concert Set for London

South African ex-president and former political prisoner Nelson Mandela will celebrate his 90th birthday this year in England with a benefit concert that will feature a great variety of international artists.

The concert will take place at Hyde Park in London, England on the 27th of June and confirmed acts include Dame Shirley Bassey, Queen, Annie Lennox, Simple Minds, Leona Lewis and Razorlight. Other acts include Zucchero, Amaral and Johnny Glegg, as well as two choirs: the Soweto Gospel Choir and The Children of Agape. Appearances by political figures as well as entertainers are also expected and include: Bill Clinton, Gordon Brown, Robert de Niro, Oprah Winfrey and Will Smith.

Tickets go on sale this Friday and all proceeds and donations from the show will go to Mandela's AIDS charity, known as 46664.
