Modest Mouse Touring North America This Summer

Published: 2008-05-07
American group Modest Mouse are going on a North American tour this summer with over 20 dates starting early next month. The indie rock formation will switch from opening acts to headliners of their own tour after their support of R.E.M. on the rock band's spring tour. Dates are scheduled for cities such as Raleigh, North Carolina, Wantagh, New York, St. Augustine, Florida, Rostraver, Pennsylvania and an appearance at the Rothbury Festival in Michigan on the 4th of July.

Modest Mouse released their fifth full-length album entitled We Were Dead before the Ship Even Sank over a year ago on Epic Records so will most definitely be playing songs from this current effort. The six piece have been active since 1993 though only started to gain mainstream success with their fourth disc, Good News for People who Love Bad News, which came out in 2004, and was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Alternative Album in the same year. It is said that singer Isaac Brock has begun writing songs for their next album since March of this year.

The only Modest Mouse Canadian headlining date is:

June 8th, Toronto, ON - Molson Amphitheatre
