American sextet, Boston, who were most popular back in the 1970's and 1980's, are planning on releasing another album later this year after their North American summer tour. About 30 dates have been scheduled for the continent, beginning on the 6th of June in Thunder Bay, Ontario, with Boston going on tour with their new singer Tommy De Carlo who is replacing the late Brian Delp on vocals. The rest of the touring band includes founding member and frontman Tom Scholz, Gary Pihl, and former Stryper rocker Michael Sweet.
Not much more information was provided except for the fact that remixed, re-arranged and re-recorded versions of several tracks from Boston's previous record, 2002's Corporate America, will be appearing on the new disc and Scholz says the new songs will be very rock 'n' roll. The upcoming musical effort will be Boston's sixth studio LP, presumably to be released on their current label Epic Records. On a global scale, Boston has sold over 50 millions album since their beginnings in 1976. Their self-titled debut spawned one of their biggest hits, the single, "More Than a Feeling."
Here is where the new Boston will be playing:
June 6, Thunder Bay, ON - Marina Park
June 7, Winnipeg, MB - MTS Center
July 29, Toronto, ON - TBA
