New Kids on the Block Release First Set of Regional Tour Dates

Published: 2008-05-01
American boy band New Kids on the Block have just released the first set of tour dates for their reunion tour (aside from their public television performances) for early fall. So far, seven dates have been made official, with tickets going on sale in early-to-mid May. The dates begin on the 20th of September in Montreal and are scheduled until the 4th of October in Chicago. However, it is believed that the New Kids will be confirming more dates for the rest of North America shortly.

The pop group were hugely successful in the late 1980's-early 1990's but broke up in 1994. Earlier this year, rumours surfaced of a potential reunion and the quintet confirmed that they had indeed gotten back together with their first live public appearance together on NBC television program, "The Today Show" at beginning of April. They will make their first performance again on the "The Today Show" on the 16th of May and play some radio show festivals a few days after.

The group's first new album in 14 years is slated for release this summer and the tour will be not only in support of the new material but also consist of the hits that made them famous back in the day.

The Canadian New Kids on the Block tour dates so far are:

Sept. 20th, Montreal, QC Bell Centre
Sept. 21st, Toronto, ON Air Canada Centre
