Published: 2008-04-25
American trio The Goo Goo Dolls are working on a new record, which it tentatively scheduled for a release in the fall or winter of this year. The follow up to the alternative rockers' eighth studio record has been in its writing stages since February of 2008. The group has been composing the new tunes both in singer Johnny Rzeznik's home as well as in their own Buffalo, New York studio. According to Billboard, there are more than two dozen song ideas floating around for the new disc, Rzeznik says that probably only 4 or 5 of these will actually be kept. No titles for either songs or the album have been decided upon just yet.

The last new Goo Goo Dolls' effort came out in 2006 and was called Let Love In. Its hit singles were "Better Days" and the cover of Supertramp's "Give a Little Bit". However, the band will have a best of compilation out this summer entitled Greatest Hits Volume Two: B-sides & Rarities on Warner Brothers Records. The greatest hits package will be a 2-disc CD & DVD with 23 unreleased audio tracks and 24 videos (both music clips and live performances) and will be available on June 17th.
