The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian Selects Switchfoot's 'This Is Home' For Soundtrack

Published: 2008-04-25
San Diego rockers Switchfoot have recorded a new original song, "This Is Home" for the latest Walt Disney Studios and Walden Media buzz film The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. The song will be featured during the film credits and will be included on the original Walt Disney Records soundtrack CD, which will be released on May 13 (the film opens on May 16).

Switchfoot have also created a music video for "This Is Home" with director Brandon Dickerson who was also responsible for the band's most recent video "Awakening" off their current album Oh! Gravity.

Frontman of Switchfoot, Jon Foreman says of writing the song, "'This Is Home' was inspired by the book after re-reading it for the opportunity to write for the film…I am always taken by [C. S.] Lewis' ability to write about the bittersweet beauty in this world; this home we aren't really made for but is the place we work out our humanity in the midst of our longing for our true home."

Mitchell Leib, President of Music and Soundtracks for Walt Disney Studios said of choosing Switchfoot for the soundtrack, ""When approached for 'Prince Caspian,' Jon Foreman had a concise read on the story and delivered a stellar, important composition and record, which we feel reflects our film brilliantly. We are proud to have Switchfoot involved and to be working with our friends at EMI CMG once again."

Canadians can head for the border this summer and catch the band performing at Creation North East and North West and they are also playing with Athlete here:
