Ottawa Bluesfest Announces Acts

The capital city's biggest music festival announced this year's acts. Though it's called Ottawa Bluesfest the genres of music represented at the concert usually vary from rock to hip hop while including the staple of blues and even country.

Musical legends like Ray Charles, Bob Dylan and Etta James have all played the festival as well as pop acts like Rihanna and Simple Plan. Held since 1994 the festival has changed venues several times but has been calling LeBreton Flats home for a couple of years.

Taking place July 3-13, this year's performers are equally eclectic featuring music greats like folk singer James Taylor, Beach Boy Brian Wilson and disco diva Donna Summer. Major pop acts like the Black Eyed Peas' Fergie and rapper Akon will also come to the nation's capital. And of course the eleven day festival will be absolutely packed with Canadian stars like Feist, Stars, the Sam Roberts Band, Great Big Sea and the Tragically Hip, just to name a few.

Day passes, three and four day weekend passes and full festival passports are available for purchase now at Compact Music and Rideau Centre Kiosk in Ottawa as well as online at
