Ashlee Simpson's third record, Bittersweet World, hit stores yesterday, April 22nd. Bittersweet World is the follow up to Simpson's sophomore effort, I Am Me, which came out three years ago in 2005. It is out via Geffen Records and was recorded last year with the help of Timbaland, The Neptunes and King Logan, amongst others, as producers.
The album features 11 new songs, including "Little Miss Obsessive", which has Tom Higgenson of the Plain White T's as a guest. The record's first single, "Outta My Head (Ay Ya Ya)", was released this past March. In conjunction with the release of Bittersweet World and with the aid of clothing dealer, Wet Seal, Simpson released a collection of shirts she designed yesterday as well.
The American singer is not the only one in the family who sings: older sister Jessica Simpson is said to be currently working on a new disc that will be heavily influenced by country music. Two weeks ago, Ashlee Simpson and boyfriend Pete Wentz, bassist of the band Fall Out Boy, announced their engagement.
