Portishead Streams Full Album on Last.fm for Free

Published: 2008-04-15
Third, the upcoming new record from trip hop group Portishead, will be made free to stream online on a music website a week before its release.

As of April 21st, the English trio's third album will be uploaded in its entirety onto Last.fm and fans will be able to preview, but not download, full tracks before it hits stores on the 28th of April.

Listeners though, will be given the chance to download the tracks in advance of the CD copies for a fee. This is the first time a full-length disc has been publicly streamed on Last.fm and is also the first time Portishead has ever undertaken such a technique.

Third will be the band's first new release in 10 years and their first studio album in 11 years.
