Brandon Heath Helps with LaFayette, TN Tornado Cleanup

Published: 2008-03-31
Nashville singer-songwriter Brandon Heath, best known for his hit single "I'm Not Who I Was", recently assisted other volunteers with cleaning up debris in Lafayette, Tennessee from a devastating tornado that caused major destruction in Macon County. Heath and the rest of the volunteer crew were dropped off in a field where they cleaned debris from a farmer's pasture and ravine and removed sheet metal twisted in up-rooted trees. Storms came during the clean up and lasted 5 hours, but the crew kept pressing on. One volunteer, Jean Proctoer commented, "It was a galvanizing experience we need to be out loving and helping people who are hurting, so the love of God is more evident to the world."

Heath's critically acclaimed album Don't Get Comfortable is in stores now. If you're looking to catch him live via a road trip this summer, Heath will be performing on June 19 at Alive Festival in Canal Fulton, Ohio and The Big Ticket Festival on June 20 in Gaylord, Michigan.
