British Sea Power Saving the Polar Bears

Published: 2008-03-10
English quartet British Sea Power have designed and are putting up for sale merchandise whose profits will go towards an arctic expedition team raising funds to protect polar bears. The team, known as the British Sea Power Team 2008, is named after the indie rock group and will be racing several other teams to the North Pole and are, according to NME.com, "charged with crossing Polar Bear Pass a migration route for hungry bears in search of food".

The organizations that will benefit from the purchase of the special t-shirts and patches available from http://www.britishseapower.co.uk/ are Polar Bear International Research and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children.

British Sea Power's latest record is Do You Like Rock Music?, which came out last month on the 12th of February in North America.
