The Stills Start Work on 3rd Record

Published: 2008-01-18
Montreal indie rockers The Stills have finished writing and are now in the studio recording their next full-length disc this past week. This will be their third album as a whole but first on the independent label Arts & Crafts. Though he was already the principal song and lyric writer beforehand, Dave Hamelin has now completely took over the role due to former member Greg Paquet leaving the band in 2005. Hamelin will thus be the primary vocalist and guitar player for the new record as well as on tour and The Stills will be joined by now-full-time member Liam O'Neil on keyboards and Julien Blais on drums for future tours.

The as-yet-unnamed effort will be their follow up to 2006's Without Feathers. During recent Canadian shows, The Stills previewed new songs from it such as "Being Here" and "Snow in California". They will most likely do the same during the American March shows they have scheduled and at the Austin South by Southwest Music Festival later the same month.
