Death Cab For Cutie Prep New Album

Published: 2008-01-14
For the follow-up to the big success of Plans, which spawned the hit "Soul Meets Body", Death Cab For Cutie decided to record live this time around. The result is the most uptempo songs from DCFC for the first time ever. Although DCFC achieved gold status with the Plans album, the new album is being described as polarizing and louder. Most songs contain electric guitar, while some are the most somber from the group ever made. Guitarist, Chris Walla, told Billboard.com that "the band is up for challenging its audience and that the new record is fun."

Since signing with Atlantic records back in 2004, DCFC want to remain as indie as possible by encouraging their loyal fan base to still download their songs off the internet. The new album will be due out sometime in May through Atlantic Records.
