Jack Johnson’s New Record Out in February 2008

Hawaiian singer-songwriter Jack Johnson is releasing the follow up to In Between Dreams early next year.

Sleep Through the Static will be out on Brushfire/Universal Records on the 5th of February 2008 and will be the acoustic folk artist's fourth studio effort (if one does not include the soundtrack album Johnson wrote for the 2006 movie, "Curious George", entitled Sing-a-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George.

The new record is being recorded in Los Angeles at the Solar Powered Plastic Plant and will contain 14 songs. The first single, "If I Had Eyes", was made available via iTunes last Thursday, December 13th. Billboard.com reports that Johnson is being accompanied by musicians Zach Gill on piano and accordion, Adam Topol on drums and Merlo Podlewski on bass. The producer of Johnson's debut album Brushfire Fairytales, JP Plunier, is lending his skills to Sleep Through the Static.
