Matchbox Twenty Hit the Road Next Year with Mute Math, Alanis Morissette

Published: 2007-11-13
Florida rock band Matchbox Twenty are finally touring after a four-year hiatus from the road starting on the 25th of January of 2008.

Thirty-three dates have been scheduled for the two month tour, which will take the quartet to cities across North America. While Matchbox Twenty will be headlining, they have managed to secure one opening act that, at least at one point in time, rivaled their popularity: Alanis Morissette will be the main special guest on the tour, with Mute Math rounding out the acts.

This upcoming tour will be the first for the group since becoming a foursome, as rhythm guitarist Adam Gaynor left the band in 2005. Their last album of new material was 2002's More Than You Think You Are, although this past October, Exile on Mainstream, a Matchbox Twenty greatest hits package with half a dozen new songs hit stores shelves, which they will be supporting on the tour.

Out of the more than 30 dates scheduled which go until the 18th of March in Las Vegas, only two are Canadian cities.

The Canadian dates for Matchbox Twenty, Alanis Morissette and Mute Math are:

Feb. 22nd, Toronto, ON - Air Canada Centre
March 9th, Vancouver, BC - General Motors Place
