The Hold Steady Preparing Next Record

Published: 2007-10-26
Brooklyn band The Hold Steady are preparing their fourth full-length record with at least 14 songs written and ready to be recorded by the end of December.

The forthcoming album will be the follow up to their third disc, Boys and Girls in America, which came out in 2006. Over a dozen songs have been demoed, and one of these brand new tracks has even been performed on shows as part of the NME Rock 'N' Roll Riot Tour.

Singer Craig Finn told NME.com that it is likely they will work with the producer of their previous record, John Agnello, for the new one. Though lyrics have yet to be written, many of the musical arrangements are done for the songs they have been working on.

For now, the alternative rock band will continue the tour until they have time to get into the studio.
