Our Lady Peace Frontman to Release Solo Debut

Published: 2007-10-23
Canadian rocker Raine Maida, also known as the frontman for alternative rock formation, Our Lady Peace, will be letting out this first solo record on November 13th.

The Hunter's Lullaby will be released via Kingnoise Records and was written, recorded and produced by Maida at his home studio during the last year. The singer-songwriter says on his MySpace that he "approached the music completely differently from anything [he's] ever done before: poems, beats then chord progressions" and the result is a fairly different sound from what he is known for with Our Lady Peace.

All songs were recorded with acoustic instruments and Maida received help from Victor Indrizzo on drums, Joseph Karnes on bass, Chantal Kreviazuk on piano and vocals and Randy Cooke on percussion. Special guests include Jared Paul.

Maida reveals the record's theme is "the quest to be a decent human being" and song titles include, "Earthless", "The Less I Know", and "China Doll". Back in 2006, Maida released an EP entitled Love Hope Hero, which gave listeners a preview of the acoustic indie sound that the upcoming debut will undoubtedly showcase.
