The Ten Commandments Brings Talents of Elliott Gould, Christian Slater, Jeremy Camp and More

Promenade Pictures is releasing an animated adaptation of The Ten Commandments, which features the voices of of Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley as narrator, Christian Slater (Moses), Alfred Molina (Ramses) and Academy Award nominee Elliott Gould (voice of God).

Gould spoke out about why he joined the project,"Well, I'm a father and a grandfather and I'm older now and recognize my own mortality. I have acquired some degree of perspective and focus in my existence and I believe it's so significant…I am concerned like most of us, about the situation in the Middle East and different perspectives and I would hope that to renew, restore and strengthen our resolve in relation to ethics and morals can help to pave the way to make for peace and harmony in the world amongst all of us."

Christian music artist and songwriter Jeremy Camp wrote the original song that accompanies the film. "I wanted to write a song about God's worthiness and my unworthiness," Camp said. "I tried to compare myself to how Moses felt as a reluctant prophet, a man who was trying to work himself out of a job."

"It is very disconcerting that more people know the contents of a Big Mac than know the contents of our moral standards," said Cindy Bond, the film's producer. "The Ten Commandments are the backbone of our society. They are God's missive to mankind and God's blueprint for how we are to live our lives."
