Aretha Franklin Releases 2 Compilation Discs Before Year's End

Next month, the "Queen of Soul" a.k.a. Aretha Franklin, will be releasing a b-sides and rarities compilation during her time on label Atlantic Records.

Titled Rare and Unreleased Recordings from the Golden Reign, the album spans the thirteen years Franklin was signed and singing under the record company, with thirty-five demos and b-sides from this time. It is set to be out on October 16th.

According to Rollingstone.com, songs that will be included on Rare and Unreleased Recordings from the Golden Reign are a duet with Ray Charles and a cover of the Beatles' track, "The Fool on the Hill".

A month later on November 13th, the duet compilation, Jewels in the Crown: All Star Duets With The Queen, is slated for release featuring both old and brand new vocal collaborations with Franklin and well-known singers of the past and present. So far, 14 tracks have been confirmed, including duets with Frank Sinatra, Mary J. Blige, John Legend and Elton John.
