Albert Hammond Jr., most known as the guitarist for garage band The Strokes, has announced via MySpace that he is going back into the studio to record his sophomore record.

The musician released his debut solo album, Yours to Keep, in 2006 and toured in support of the record during the announcement of indefinite hiatus for his regular group, The Strokes. Now he has confirmed that he will be recording the follow up to this disc in New York City at Electric Lady Studios and has already begun performing some tunes in front of live audiences.

Hammond also mentioned that footage of recording sessions will be made available via his official MySpace page (, which are set to begin in October. As such, the album may be out as early as the end of 2007, but it is more than likely it will be out in 2008.

The last The Strokes album of new material was 2006's First Impression of Earth.
