The Cardigans Return To North America

The Cardigans are preparing to make their return to North America. The Swedish band has a 13 date tour lined up for this coming May beginning on the 8th in New Jersey and ending in Los Angeles on the 25th. This will be the first time in five years the group has made the trek to America.

The tour comes just before the American release of their fifth studio album 'Long Gone Before Daylight' on May 25th. The record has already dropped in Canada, released in April of last year.

Best known for the 90's hit 'Lovefool', the Cardigans haven't quite made it past the 'one hit wonder' status that so many bands are branded with. Although that could change at anytime, especially with the U.S. release of 'Long Gone Before Daylight'. The Cardigans have undergone a transformation from their original incarnation. No longer the ultra sweet pop group of days long gone, the band has reached further into themselves into deeper and indeed darker places. Even lead singer Nina Persson has opted for jet black hair in place of her signature bottle blonde locks. Don't worry though; Persson hasn't traded in her smooth voice for an animal-like yelp akin to those singers with hair darker than a puddle of oil at night.

The Daylight Breaks Tour makes only one Canadian stop, May 13th in Toronto at Lee's Palace.
