Carlos Santana and Tina Turner Duet to be Released

Published: 2007-07-27
Carlos Santana's song "The Game of Love" with singer Michelle Branch was released off his solo record Shaman in 2002 and while it became a hit for the pair, Branch was not the Latin rock musician's first choice to sing with.

"The Game of Love" was originally recorded with the practically-legendary Tina Turner providing the vocals, but as reported by Yahoo News, Santana admitted that his record company at the time was not interested in a Turner version of the song. Come this October, Santana will be able to let the world hear both the Branch and the "new" Turner renderings of the track, as they will be part of the Best of compilation Ultimate Santana out on the 16th.

Not only will Ultimate Santana feature both versions of his Grammy Award winning "The Game of Love", but also Santana favourites such as "Oye Como Va" and "Black Magic Woman" and "Smooth", with Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 guest-starring on vocals. There will also be some other new material, such as collaborations with Shakira, Lil Wayne and Nickelback's Chad Kroeger.
