Rihanna at Top of UK Chart for 10 Straight Weeks

Published: 2007-07-24
Barbadian R'n'B singer Rihanna has made UK history with her single, "Umbrella", as this week marks the song's 10th consecutive stay at the top of the charts.

"Umbrella" is the first single from her third studio album, Good Girl Gone Bad, and features rapper Jay-Z. It is the first song in over a decade to spend more than nine weeks as the Number One Single on the UK music charts. The last song to do so was "Love is All Around" by Wet Wet Wet in 1994.

Rihanna broke out with her first track "Pon de Replay" from her debut record, Music of the Sun, after being discovered by Jay-Z. She will be starting a tour of the UK in December.
