White Stripes Play One Second Show, Complete Their Mission

Published: 2007-07-18
From secret shows across our nation to sold out fan frenzy at concerts near and far, the White Stripes have made Canada take pride in red and white once more. Their recent antic in St. John's, NF was a one second secret show featuring Meg on drums and Jack White playing one note on his guitar and then both of them walking off stage. Thankfully for those in St. John's with tickets to the White Stripes' final performance of the tour that night, it wasn't the last note they heard that day.

Call it a gimmick-driven tour, but it's one that's worked out to the White Stripes favour. From performing on a local bus in Winnipeg to a red and white flour mill in London, treasure hunting for the band became a momentary local pastime; and they still accomplished their mission by touring in every province and territory in Canada on this tour and making front page headlines wherever they went.
