Black Moth Super Rainbow To Do Summer Touring

Published: 2007-07-13
Black Moth Super Rainbow, an electronic, experimental band that brings a folk-pop sound into their recordings as well, is based in Pennsylvania. The band will be doing a show in Vancouver for Canadian fans, towards the middle of September, while touring with The Flaming Lips. They will also be playing nine other shows, all in the U.S.

The band's five members played recently at the South by Southwest Music Festival, alongside The Octopus Project, to support their collaborative album, The House of Apples and Eyeballs.

Black Moth Super Rainbow's latest project, this year's release Dandelion Gum, "is a nice surprise and a good example of why doing one thing very well is sometimes more than enough" according to Pitchfork. The band achieves a unique sound by using a wide variety of instruments, including keyboards and an electronic piano. The band (which is signed to Graveface Records) has been compared to Stereolab and Beta Band.

September 18 - Vancouver, BC - Orpheum Theatre
