Crowded House Release First New Album in More Than a Decade

Published: 2007-07-11
Australian rock group Crowded House released their new record, entitled Time on Earth, yesterday (July 10) in North America.

Time on Earth is the fifth studio album of new material since their 1993 album, Together Alone. It is also the first record since getting back together in 2007 after the announcement of their breakup eleven years ago in 1996. Time on Earth features all the original members of Crowded House except for drummer Paul Hester, who committed suicide in 2005; new member Matt Sherrod lends his drumming skills in his place.

The 14-track record features lead single, "Don't Stop Now" as well as a collaboration with the Dixie Chicks called "Silent House", which also appears on the American country trio's 2006 album, Taking the Long Way.

This past weekend, Crowded House played in front of thousands for the Australian leg of the Live Earth concerts.
