Relient K Bus Catches Fire, All Contents Lost

Published: 2007-07-09
Ohio punk rockers Relient K recently experienced a tragedy after headlining the Creation East Festival in Pennsylvania. A fire consumed the band's tour bus, but thankfully no one was injured in the accident.

The Times-Reporter says of the accident, "The blaze and attendant smoke and water damaged destroyed the band's instruments, sound equipment and tour merchandise, plus the members' laptop computers, cell phones, cameras, iPods, clothing and other personal items... [Matt] Thiessen said his items alone, including a laptop containing about 100 unfinished songs, tallied up to about $7,000."

The band ended up cancelling their Cornerstone Festival appearance that they were heading to that night, but do plan to carry on with touring. West coasters can catch the band at Creation West Festival in Quincy, WA at the George Ampthitheatre on July 25.

On their blog they said that their sound equipment and instruments were alright.... except for Dave's drumset.
