The 30th Annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival will get underway in on July 13th. The festival, which hosts almost fifty performers over the three-day event, and draws between ten and thirty thousand spectators each year, takes place on eight outdoor stages at Jericho Beach Park in Vancouver.

Performers are from around the globe, and include Ganga Giri from Australia, The Be Good Tanyas from British Columbia, and Sarah Jane Morris from England.

The festival site includes everything from a cafÈ to an arts market. As well as paid events, the festival also hosts "Night On The Drive", a free four-hour outdoor concert at Grandview Park. If you are in the area, "Night On The Drive" could definitely be something worth checking out; performers include Los Munequitos de Matanzas (who play traditional Cuban rumba); and DNA6 (this group combines hip-hop and funk with pop and jazz).

The Vancouver Folk Music Festival runs July 13-15 at Jericho Beach Park in Vancouver, British Columbia.
