Metric Side Project Bang Lime to Release Debut

Bang Lime is the name of the new side project of Joules Scott-Key and Josh Winstead of Canadian indie rock group Metric. They will be releasing their first full-length LP on August 14th on Last Gang Records entitled Best Friends in Love.

The self-produced Best Friends in Love was recorded in Oakland, California at Sharkbite Studios and engineered by Drew Malamud.

Winstead is the most known for his work as bassist of Metric while Scott-Key is the group's usual drummer.

Metric's current record is their sophomore album, 2005's Live it Out, although they are currently working on their third and shooting for an October 2007 release. Metric frontwoman Emily Haines is currently on tour in support of her debut solo disc, Knives Don't Have Your Back, which was released in 2006 under the moniker, Emily Haines & the Soft Skeleton.

Bang Lime will head on their first North American tour starting this August.

Aug. 17th, Vancouver, B.C. - The Plaza
Aug. 24th , Toronto, ON - Lee's Palace
Aug. 25th, London, ON - Call the Office
Aug. 26th, Hamilton, ON - The Casbah
