The Shins Kick Off In Canada

Published: 2004-04-14
Indie pop band the Shins are all set to tour North America in support of their most recent album 'Chutes Too Narrow'. The band will be hitting only one Canadian city during their 17 scheduled dates.

Although the Shins have released two albums, commercial success came only after the release of their second effort. Their quirky lyrics and inventive song titles have earned the band a unique place in the world of indie music and set them apart from their peers. The sunny songs of the Shins could fit easily in the early '60s, earning them fans young and old alike. Both their debut, 'Oh, Inverted World' and second album, 'Chutes Too Narrow' were released on Sub Pop.

Music of the Shins has been featured on the television drama 'Gilmore Girls' and the band also made an appearance on the most recent episode 'Gilmore Girls Gone Wild', performing at a nightclub during spring break. The band has also been mentioned of the popular Fox series 'The O.C.'.

The Shins will kick off their tour May 21st at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC.
