George Harrison to be Awarded Star on Walk of Fame

Published: 2007-06-27
Late Ex-Beatles member George Harrison will be remembered for his contribution to music and involvement with the community with his own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.

For the 2008 inductees' ceremony, Harrison joins a number of other fellow musicians such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Christina Aguilera and Ricky Martin, although the Boulevard has been awarding entertainers not only in music, but from all aspects of show business, such as film, television and theatre.

Harrison will not be the only former Beatle on the Boulevard as his band mate, the late John Lennon has already been previously recognized with a star in the past. Harrison passed away in November of 2001 from lung cancer. He was best known as the lead guitarist of the Beatles, though he maintained a fairly successful solo career after the demise of the legendary British rock 'n' roll phenomenon.
