New Order Split Confirmed

Published: 2007-06-21
British rock group New Order has officially confirmed that they have split up and have no plans for working together in the future.

Bassist Peter Hooks spoke to BBC 6 Music and revealed that the reasons for the split were personal.

New Order was made up of three former members of legendary band, Joy Division, (Hook, Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris) along with guitarist and synthesizer player Gillian Gilbert and began in 1980 after the suicide of Joy Division singer Ian Curtis.

Their most recent record was 2005's Waiting for the Sirens' Call, the follow up to 2001's Get Ready.
