For those who like their music a little harder and with an edge, the Purple Door Festival might just be what you're looking for this summer. Featuring 3 stages, an art gallery, skate park, paint ball and top speakers from across the USA, the festival, which is held at the Ski Roundtop in Lewisberry, PA on August 17-18, has something for everyone.

Performers will include the likes of Relient K, Anberlin, mewithoutYou, Haste the Day, Norma Jean, Sherwood, Red, Derek Webb, Family Force 5, Leeland among others. "We are very pleased to have such a varied group of heavy-hitters on our schedule this yearÖ Many of these bands are leaving a significant mark on today's music scene and will bring out a new audience to the event, " said Chris Strayer, festival director. Purple Door will also be giving artists the opportunity to showcase their visual artistic and musical ability through the Purple Door Gallery and the New Band Showcase stage, sponsored by Mono Vs Stereo. Interested bands can submit a three song demo CD, along with a band bio for consideration and a panel of judges will choose the three of the most promising acts to perform on the Gallery stage on the Friday night of the Festival. Visual artists, both young and emerging, will also be expressing through various visual media, as the artist relates to the surrounding world at large. Strayer says of the festival, "Our goal is to not only provide quality entertainment for those attending, but to showcase what Christians are doing in today's music and art world. We hope to let today's youth culture know that creativity has a place in the context of the church."
